Today is the first Sunday of Lent. It is a time when we traditionally deny some of the comforts in our lives so that we can focus on our relationship with God. The writer of Hebrews says to “throw off the sin that so easily entangles us and run the race with perseverance fixing our eyes on Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.”
The text is the temptations Jesus faces from the devil after His baptism and a forty-day fast in preparation for His vocation as our Savior. His temptations may seem like they only apply to Him, but a closer look reveals we are all subject to similar temptations.
Join us today as we examine those temptations and how we can overcome them through the power of God.
